International Students

Milford School welcomes international students. It is recognized nationwide and in some overseas countries for both its academic excellence and appreciation of cultural diversity of its young pupils. Our students come from supportive families, always striving for excellence. We value the contribution students and families from different countries bring to our school community. Milford School has the atmosphere of an International school as many of our students’ families have migrated to New Zealand in the last decade. Apart from those who are residents of New Zealand, we have a number of International fee paying students. In order for our International students to be fully catered for, we have a well resourced ESOL Department- being run by Mrs. Gordana Stanojevic, our Director of International students and a Teacher in charge of ESOL.

Gordana has been teaching English as a Second Language for more than 20 years. She has lived in New Zealand for almost twenty years, originally coming from Serbia. Gordana has travelled throughout Europe, Asia and Africa and has an excellent rapport with other cultures, which she shares with ESOL students in her classes .

The Director of International students and her staff, Miss Tracye Eriksen and Mrs.Yiha Kim , teacher aides, liaise closely with the classroom teachers to ensure that the pupils are settled and fully involved with the school curriculum.
