The Friends of Milford School (FOMS) is a group of parents who come together to support the school in providing the best for all children. This group was formerly known as the PTA.
FOMS provides a means for parents and the school to build a successful partnership, based on the best interests of our children. By getting involved in the work of your FOMS, parents, teachers and children benefit from the knowledge and insight shared.
Some examples of FOMS activities are:
- Second-hand uniform sales
- Parent get-togethers
The FOMS meetings are usually held in the school staffroom, on a Wednesday evening starting at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, which are advertised in the schools weekly newsletter.
2020 dates are:
Term 1: Week 4 – Wednesday 26 February
Term 2: Wednesday 20th May
Term 3: Wednesday 12th August
Term 4: Wednesday 4th November
If you wish to contact FOMS about any fundraising, parent-based topics, social occasions, community services etc then please contact the secretary by email: FOMS@milford.school.nz
FOMS Grants Requests – Over the years, FOMS has contributed significant donations towards improving the well-being of the school community. To provide guidance for future donations we invite teachers, parents and children to submit a grant form with ideas. Once a completed grant form has been received, it will be reviewed and discussed at the following FOMS meeting after it is received. Please check the guidelines on the form before completing it.
Shore to Shore – This annual fun run will take place on Sunday 5 April. FOMS will provide sausages in our Milford School Gazebo after the event. All children participating will also receive a certificate.
